This document provides the GLOSSARY OF COMMONLY USED AIR PASSENGER TERMS as defined by RP1008 and maintained after each Release Cycle with new Business Terms and new Information Terms introduced in AIDM Common integrated Models Standards (I3 Governance)

A La Carte Offer Item | A Container of one Service (excluding flights) or Service Bundle which is priced per unit. A La Carte Offer Items are optional, and the quantities of these can be selected for any of the eligible passengers and segments. #EndOfDef# These are offer items within a standalone Offer supplementing regular offers with ancillaries for the same passengers and segments. This enhances the shopping basket concept. Aggregator | An Aggregator’s role is to request Offers from Airlines based on a shopping request initiated by a Seller, and respond to the Seller with a consolidated set of these Offers. This consolidation could involve receiving one or more Offers from Airlines (ORAs) and deciding which Offers and in what form they should be presented to the Seller. The Aggregator’s role in NDC could be performed by a 3rd party or handled internally by the Seller. The Aggregator is not a party within the transaction itself and cannot alter the Offers it receives from the Airlines. Airline | An organization operating aircraft for commercial purposes which offers air transport services, both scheduled or non-scheduled, to the public for carriage of passengers, mail and/or cargo and is certified for such purposes by the civil aviation authority of the state in which it is established. Note that the unique identifier of an Airline is a composite of the Airline Designator Code and its Name. It is common only to use Airline Designator Code when the duplicate coded airlines operate in different air spaces. |
