Objective
IATA airline members share the vision to enable any industry API providers to adopt the /wiki/spaces/OAPIWG/pages/1375600947 in their proprietary APIs beyond the industry standards, leveraging the standard supporting tools, such as the /wiki/spaces/OAPIWG/pages/1387692053 and the /wiki/spaces/OAPIWG/pages/1389264948.
The IATA offers the Open Air API certificate to promote the adoption.
Who can apply
Any airline and travel industry API provider can apply for certification free of charge.
Certification Framework
Level 0 Certification
The API is documented using OpenAPI Specification 3.0.
Level 1 Certification
All requirements described in section “API Specification” of the /wiki/spaces/OAPIWG/pages/1375600947 are fulfilled in the API Specification
Level 2 Certification
API Data model definitions MUST be derived from the /wiki/spaces/OAPIWG/pages/1387692053following the /wiki/spaces/OAPIWG/pages/1388380202
Certification Process
API provider is recommended to publish their APIs for industry discoverability purpose (free of charge) on the IATA Open API Hub, even before applying for certification
API Provider fills in the application form (pdf) and submit it to openair@iata.org, along with the OpenAPI specification.
IATA team validates the compliance of the API and provide feedback.
Once the API specification is validated, IATA team issues the certificate to the provider. The API will be listed as the Open Air certified APIs on the IATA Open API Hub.
